Regarded as the oldest gravestone in Connecticut and is one of the oldest readable stones in the US. And now, readable and digitally preserved forever. The gravestone is in remarkable condition.
Rev. Huit preached in Windsor from 1639-1644, having come here with other founding families, including the Griswold’s, and the Loomis family. His monument reveals his social importance within the community and is the oldest legible stone in CT. Not only a spiritual teacher, Huit was a town leader active in building the early Meeting House and a bridge over the Farmington River
