More model informationThis Pleistocene camel or horse rib has possible human-caused cut marks and dates to 12,000 to 14,000 years ago. The bone was recovered from Tule Springs National Monument, Nevada. It was 3D scanned at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum on January 12, 2017 using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner. This work was conducted by Dr. Bernard K. Means of the Virtual Curation Laboratory of Virginia Commonwealth University as part of a special project sponsored by the Smithsonian Affiliations office in Washington, D.C.
