Rochester Cathedral memorial located on the south wall of the south nave transept. Signed Charles Easton, 1736. Erected by the Mayor and Citizens 156 years after his death. The bust was given by Joseph Brooke of Rochester. Large mural memorial consisting of an inscribed basement above which is a coloured bust, facing to the front, within a circular niche beneath a pediment. Three shields of arms sculpted and painted. After an engraved design by James Gibbs. The bust is a copy of a C16th one. Inscribed on the socle of the bust in incised letters, coloured black: ‘Archetypum hunc dedit / IOS BROOKE de SATIS Armr’. Inscription in incised Roman and some Italic letters, coloured black (for transcription see Physick 1995, no. 98).
