This Rig Insector’ shows a proposed jacket derogation scenario. Excavation of the piles which anchor the rig in place begins by exposing the piles below the seabed. These will then be cut along the red line, followed by removal of the topside and steel jacket in sections. Complete with London Bus for scale, this model gives an overvie of the complete scenario.
