More model informationCooper Beck, Cumbria, England, was heavily modified apx 200 years ago with the aim of increasing the amount of grazing land. The channel was moved from its original course to a route apx. 1.5m above the floodplain. This change resulted in increased flood risk downstream as the water moved through the system faster and was not able to utilise the floodplain. The channel has been restored and reconnected to its original course by Ullswater CIC. This model shows the restored route of the beck.
