This carved date stone was originally mounted above a stable block door at Rivington Hall, but was removed and can now be found in the yard of the Rivington Unitarian Chapel.
The date stone signifies the date of construction of the stable block, and has the initials A and I A - representing Abigail and John Andrews, owners of Rivington Hall at the date of construction.
