This shop is one of two fishmonger shops located on the Decumanus Maximus, and were an addition to this region from the 3rd century AD. This eastern shop in the north porticus of the Macellum (IV, V, 2) market area was a frequented fish shop. This brick and stone counter would have been used by the shop owner to display and sell goods. It is possible that the small compartment towards the front of the counter was used simply for storage. This model was created by Lily Eagan using Metashape software for the Virtual Roman Retail Project (https://vrr.uark.edu.) Data for this model was collected with the permission of the Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica.
The original model was 539, 999 faces, but edited down to 101,396 faces. Unfortunately, this software did create some issues with the texture of this model as it added a brown film over the texture.
