More model informationA Roman statue of Mercury, displayed at the Great North Museum (formerly the Hancock Museum) in Newcastle, UK. The stone relief was found next to Newcastle upon Tyne Fort. Mercury holds a purse and a caduceus (staff). The Great North Museum has a fantastic collection of Roman carved stonework, and the North East of England in general has a strong Roman association. Hadrian’s Wall extends across the landscape with archaeological excavations continuing at several of the forts along the route such as Chesters Roman Fort, Birdoswald, Housesteads, and Corbridge in Northumberland. This model was created by ExplorAR to help preserve it in 3D for future generations. #PreserveOurPast
