In the series “My construction site archives” Year 2006: On the south facade of Saint-Charles station in Marseille, to absorb the tensile forces induced by the glass envelope of the building. Sheathed cables were inserted into the heart of the stones and placed in tension between a metal part located at the head of the column and the underside of the support beams. The Hall, positioned as an extension of the historic station, triples the initial width of the station, an immense room whose 5,000 m² facades are composed solely of glazing and columns. An aerial polygonal in the form of lost prisms was installed on the surrounding stable buildings. The installations took place in alignment of the columns using a ‘Geometer tower’ erected for the occasion with a Geodimeter 540 controlled by the ‘Topo6tem’ software integrated into an ‘HP iPAQ Business Navigator’ and Bluetooth radios. Subsequently, each stone element was subject to XYZ monitoring with an individual file.
