More model informationThis single fragment of lead-glazed earthenware stands apart from the others in the Santa Clara collection in that it has a fine, compact, salmon-to-tan colored paste and a well-applied (and preserved), clear, glossy, olive -green glaze on the interior. The exterior of the rounded vessel is undecorated except for patches of degraded and crumbly green glaze. Though the piece is different from the others, it does seem to fall within a range generally consistent with the other ceramic types found on the shipwreck, and it may simply reflect the variability found in Spanish lead-glazed earthenware of the time. The piece is approximately 7.2 x 5.0 centimeters.
