More model informationSavannah River is the name given to a category of medium-sized triangular projectile points like the one seen here. These points have been found all along the east coast of the United States, but are most commonly found in the South and Mid-Atlantic regions. These points date to the Terminal Archaic period (3650-1525 BCE), and are commonly found in Maryland made of rhyolite and quartzite. This particular Savannah River point is made of quartzite and was found at the Pindell Bluff (18AN1672) archaeological site which was uncovered near Jug Bay in 2019.
