A standard fastener, approximately 10 mm long. The challenge when scanning an object like this is to mount it on a rotating platform, precisely capture its minute geometry (in this case, its thread), and then reconstruct the reflective surfaces. The screw was coated with matte spray using an airbrush and then scanned in 2 positions with the Artec Micro 3D scanner.
