“Self-Portrait” is a 3D model of a realistic character based on myself created using Blender as an assignment project for my Animation course as well as my portfolio debut on Sketchfab. The creation process began with taking 68 reference photos from various angles of the body, face, hands, and feet, which were then used as references in the blocking, sculpting, and retopology stages. This model has a total of 6,084 polygons on the body mesh excluding other parts such as pants, eyeballs, teeth, gums and hair. I used the FBX export format. Each mesh has one material, except for the eyeball which has three separate materials, and surface details are added through noise texture, voronoi, and bump to create a more vivid skin impression. The model is not rigged and does not use UV mapping or bitmap textures, but is designed for portfolio showcase and further development. - May 11, 2025
