Sharks Generation

Information Since first appearing at least 420 million years ago, sharks have undergone many strange and sometimes terrifying changes to evolve into the sharks we know today. They were called bandringa. These tiny, 4- to 6-inch-long baby sharks lived 310 million years ago along a tropical coastline in what is now northeastern Illinois. The paleontologists who recently discovered the nursery – the earliest-known shark nursery containing fossils of both young sharks and eggs.
