More model informationThe remains of a singular copper-alloy knife were discovered during the excavation of a round barrow at Sherford, Plymouth (Devon). The knife was found within an Early Bronze Age food vessel placed beneath a limestone mortuary structure, and was associated with the cremated remains of a middle-aged male. Green ‘spot’ staining was observed on bone fragments recovered from the pot in the area of the waist suggesting the blade was worn on the hip prior to cremation. No evidence of the handle remained although two rivets were found. This reconstruction shows what the knife may have looked like during the Early Bronze Age. More info is found on our blog
