Shetland Bus Memorial

This is a memorial erected in Scalloway dedicated to the 44 Norwegians who sacrificed their lives during WWII whilst taking part in the Shetland Bus operation. The stones used in the construction of the memorial came from Shetland and areas of Norway associated with the men involved in the operation. The memorial signifies the enduring ties between the people of Shetland and Norway.
