This 3D model will be used to create a wood carved piece that will decorate the window frames at KCCL, a Buddhist Monastic Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are replicating this from some old previously made pieces that are currently installed at the Halifax Shambhala Center. The original pieces are made from poured plaster and moulds.
The the old plaster pieces are disentegrating from age so we need to replace them with new ones. We are hoping to use 3d modeling technology and a CNC wood carving machine to do this. The machine reads the information from the 3D model file to carve out the shape from a piece of wood. Myself and Alex Choiniere worked on creating this model from photos and a 3D scan of the original piece. We have sent the file to Eureka Technologies in Sackville to be printed. We are currently waiting for a prototype to be made. Stay tuned! Support KCCL here: https://www.kccl.ca/ Support my work on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/KatherineMunro?fan_landing=true
