Sir John Gorton was Australian Prime Minister between 1968 and 1971.
Sculpted by Lis Johnson, the Gorton statue is situated between the Malvern Town Hall and the Malvern Library. It was unveiled on 2 September 2005 by then Treasurer, Peter Costello, who was the member for Higgins, the seat once held by Gorton. The statue was donated by David Mandie.
