Skaftkola úr klébergi fannst í skálanum frá tímabilinu 940-1100. Kléberg er innfluttur steinn og er að öllum líkindum frá Noregi. Kolur voru ljósfæri sem í var brennt lýsi og kveikurinn var snúinn saman úr fífuhárum.

This stone lamp, crafted from steatite (soapstone), was found in the longhouse dating back to the period between 940 and 1100. Steatite is not found in Iceland and is most likely imported from Norway. These stone lamps were used to burn fish oil, and their igniters were fashioned by twisting together cotton grass.
