Carved outcrop on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This carved area of exposure is referenced ‘Snook Bank 6b’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The BA and ERA record different motifs with the former showing a more complex design of cups, cups with rings and grooves. This model appears to show all of the elements recorded by NADRAP + some recorded Stan Beckensall.
