Carved outcrop on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This carved area of exposure is referenced ‘Snook Bank 6f(ii)’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. NADRAP Team 2 describes:
“….Three cups, westernmost one with a possible faint, eroded ring. Midget cups on south east side are probably natural. A faint, curved scratch in centre of the panel may be a fourth cup.”
