Carved outcrop on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This carved area of exposure is referenced ‘Snook Bank 6f(iv)’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. NADRAP Team 2 describes:
“No definite rock art was observed on this outcrop. Beckensall Archive records a minimum of six cups, but now only three faint, very shallow depressions in central part of the panel are visible. They may be natural.”
