Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This carved rock is referenced ‘Snook Bank 7c’ on the Beckensall Archive and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. NADRAP Team 2 describes:

“Block possibly quarried from crags to the west with a single cup mark at the south end and two at the north end. Grooves may be natural and possibly the result of erosion.”
