Second attempt at using Zmodeler to make something pretty basic. Just a simple aluminum beverage can. Actually started with a cube and used subdivisions to cylindrize the outside. It’s not perfectly circular but it came very very close so I’m happy. Getting a hang of the crease tool within Zmodeler as well as inserting edge-loops where wanted to keep things manageable. Happy to have reached a personal milestone of only using dynamesh for the nail type thing that holds the pull tab on, and I just as easily could have just squashed a sphere if I wanted to. Pull tab was done in shadowbox in all of about 2 minutes.
The mesh seems like it’s been strongly distorted thanks to the decimation from the Sketchfab upload plugin. The perforations in the top actually looked smooth and good inside Zbrush. Not a big deal though.
Approximate time = 1 hr. Less than half of what it took for the last Zmodeler project. Eventually shooting for something like this to be done in ~10 minutes. I feel that’s reasonable.
