More model informationThis statue is made from limestone and has been in the care of the Montrose Museum since 1837, having been donated by a Dr James Burnes, who collected the statue from Egypt in 1834. The statue is of a woman called Meramuniotes who was a temple musician, who lived between 332 and 300 BCE
This is a scan I took around 5 years ago using my old point and click camera. The statue at the time of my visit was displayed in front of a window. Gaining access was rather difficult. Unfortunately this is reflected in the mesh detail of the left hand side and the final textures not being as good as I would have hoped.
For the best viewing experience, switch to matcap in the model inspector as it shows off the finer detail of the clothing and heiroglyphs.
