Stollhof Hoard (NHMW-Prae 13799 a&b)3D Model
3D scan of the Stollhof gold discs from the Neolithic Age (4,000 BC), found in the Hohe Wand hills in Lower Austria. The gold discs of Stollhof are among the oldest gold finds worldwide. They both consist of gold with a high silver content. Due to this composition the gold deposit can be located in today’s Romania and Bulgaria. They were produced around 4,000 BC and probably brought to Lower Austria via the Danube River.
The Stollhof gold discs are Number 38 of the NHM Top100 and can be found in the Treasury Cabinet of the NHM Vienna.
