More model informationThis dish was found on the late Neolithic (c3200-2300 BC) settlement of Skara Brae, Sandwick, Orkney. It has been manufactured from a piece of of local sandstone. The hollow has been carefully pecked and ground to a smooth semi-circle. The interior of the dish is stained red from a pigment, such as ochre.
