Many inventions come out of the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) to enable patients to lead independent lives. For those who can’t use their arms, this device called the strawberi is attached to the edge of cups or glasses to fix straws and to stop them moving around. It was designed by current staff and recently went into manufacturing and distribution. On display at the NSIC. Cup and straw for illustrative purposes.

Groups of participants from local disability organisations have been trained in the use of a 3D scanner and photogrammetry. They have shared the skills that they have learnt with students from a SEND school.
