Streptococcal Pharyngitis, also known as tonsilitis is a bacterial infection caused by Group A streptococcal bacteria and it causes the following symptoms which can be identified during a medical examination:
• Tonsillar swelling • Streaks of pus on the palatal tonsils • Dirty grey tongue • Swollen uvula • Cervical lymphadenopathy (Superficial and Deep cervical lymph nodes).
This is a hand sculpted educational wax model depicting the findings of streptococcal pharyngitis during clinical examination. The model also potrays the expression of suffering which can be seen through wrinkled eyebrows and tightly shut eyes. The 3D model of the wax head was produced using photogrammetry and compiled in Agisoft Metashape. The model was edited in Zbrush.
