In 1975 the Valley of the Dinosaurs was built at the Silesian Zoo - at this time it was the only such exposition in Poland. In the years 1963-71 in the Gobi desert, Polish paleontologists carried out excavation works, which resulted in the dinosaurs presented in the valley. They were created as a result of the reconstruction of the remains found in the Gobi desert. The original remains of these dinosaurs are now in the Department of Paleozoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. In the Silesian ZOO the Dinosaurs are at its natural size. When the Valley of the Dinosaurs was built, the dinosaurs presented there were the first reconstructions of newly discovered species. In the valey you can see sixteen dinosaurs. These are representatives of the following species: Gallimimus, Tarbosaurus, Nemegtosaurus, Protoceratops, Prenocephale, Saichania, Saurolophus.
