More model informationStone 2 at Temple Wood stone circle, Kilmartin Glen, Argyll.
This stone has unusual carvings on its outer surface. Two triangular shapes, pointing downwards, flank a roughly circular depression. Towards the right edge of the stone there are fragments of similar markings. I have also uploaded a version of this model without photographic textures.
These carvings do not seem to have been mentioned in the excavation report published in the 1989. It is unlikley they are prehistoric, and may even have made with a metal tool.
The scale bar is situated on the side of the stone which faces away from the centre of the circle. N indicates True North.
Photogrammetry: Aaron Watson, February 2018.
