This thesis is an introduction of representation on reflective sundials in the 17th century which has multiple layers of information from history to astronomy by applying representation methodology. The survey is about the magnificent sundial clock located at Lycée Stendhal in Grenoble, dating from 1678.
The sun clock at Grenoble is a testament to the technological advances of the 17th century. This clock is built in fresco and covers 100m2 of wall and ceiling space. It does not require any electricity or internet connectivity. Its creator - Jesuit Father Jean Bonfa and his student had compressed many data into this fresco, including history, mathematics, astronomy, and geography.
