The Lonely Robot on the Swing

The Lonely Robot on the Swing is a 3D project inspired by the cardboard mechanical sculptures of Greg Olijnyk. I challenged myself to recreate one of his pieces in 3D, focusing on both the technical and artistic aspects of the work, especially materials and overall silhouette.

The scene features a small robot sitting on a swing, hanging from a metallic structure of pipes — a simple moment balancing childhood innocence and industrial melancholy, with a quietly nostalgic mood.

To push my skills further, I created two interpretations of the same model: a more realistic version and a more stylized one. The robot was fully modeled and rigged.
