Modeled in ZBrush 2025, the creature’s exaggerated anatomical features were sculpted with a focus on asymmetry, making it appear both unnerving and lifelike. The skin texture incorporates a combination of high-resolution displacement maps and hand-painted detailing in Substance Painter 2025, simulating the effects of decomposition, with specific focus on the patchy, corroded tone of the flesh and broken veins. The eyes, created using a proprietary hybrid method of subsurface scattering in Maya, convey a disturbing sense of life despite the lifeless body. A custom rig built in Blender employs a highly flexible bone structure to achieve the eerie fluidity of movement, utilizing inverse kinematics (IK) to simulate the character’s grotesque jerks and spasms. The final output was rendered in Arnold Render with advanced volumetric shaders, enhancing the atmospheric decay and eerie glow of the model.
