This threshing machine part was designed by Thomas Jefferson who provided the plans to James Madison. This part was archaeologically recovered from the tobacco barn quarter at James Madison’s Montpelier. It was 3D scanned with a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner. This object was 3D scanned to expand the digital offerings of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Encyclopedia Virginia related to slavery in Virginia.
