Scanned in just 25 minutes with the metrology-grade laser scanner Artec Point, the transmission’s fine elements are all captured in this high-res 3D replica. The complex combination of components, from the gear sets to the shifting mechanism, is vividly displayed.

Despite the transmission’s shiny and reflective metallic cast and challenging surface roughness, Artec Point’s advanced scanning technology captured all of it. The resulting point cloud was optimized for precision, even with a 0.2mm resolution. For future scans of similarly sized objects, we recommend a resolution of at least 0.4mm to reduce processing time.
