More model information

A photoscanned treetrunk on a small hill. Couldn’t resist passing this one by without trying to make a great 3d model of it.

This one is captured with my Samsung S8 and again created with meshroom (such a awesome tool). For this model I shot about 150 photo’s ranging from far away to inyourface for that extra bit of texture quality.

The original (“un-optimished”) mesh I got from meshroom was about 700k tris, so I decide to see if I could make a “low” poly version of it, without dropping too much detail.

For this I used instant meshes, again a awesome open-source tool giving great retopology results. After that I baked the other maps in substance painter which resulted in this model :D

It also gives some opportunities for the future using painters great features for material creation :)
