This stone was discovered by Simon Camm in 2010 at Drift Reservoir, near Penzance, Cornwall, UK. It hasn’t been recorded until this interim scan, now that the worryingly low water levels in the reservoir have allowed access.
One pair of cup marks are conjoined by a shallow channel, in a similar manner to some of those on the cup marked stone from Tregiffian, now in Royal Cornwall Museum. There are linear alignments of small cup marks which are evenly spaced. There a possibly several phases of cup marks here. The markings are quite beautiful when viewed together.
Ideally, a small amount of turf needs to be removed and the stone cleaned before recording in more detail. I will be seeking permissions and funding to do this before water levels rise.
