An update to my previous upload of the Tutankhamun Death Mask. Modelled and textured entirely in Blender.
I made this over a year ago and have since learnt better ways to model, keep topology to a low poly count and other qualities of life.
I am still impressed with the work and detail here. My aim was to recreate a historic and faithful rendition of what the mask MAY have looked like only a few years after it was first made in Ancient Egypt. I like to take a historical view on how things would have looked in the past and bring life to something in a way that a museum artifact my no longer.
Certain artistic liscenced was used on some details, but I focused on as much detail as possible. This was created for an Augmented Reality (AR) educational app, and so time limits on the project and amout of detail/texture/polycount I could use were limited.
Texture Maps are 2k and all baked: Diffuse, Normal, Metalness, Roughness. Face count around 20,000
