More model informationThis statue fragment relates to the monotheistic pharaoh Akhnaton and his son, Tutankhamun. The young pharoah himself may be seen in the fragment of the face made of red quartzite or sandstone. A surprising number of statues still exist of Tutankhamun, who was long thought to be insignificant. Most of them were usurped by Horemheb, a later pharaoh who tried to eliminate Tutankhamun and Akhnaton from the historical record.
