More model informationThis is Trix she is a Tyrannosaurus Rex that lived 66 million years ago in what is now Montana, today you can visit it in the Naturalis Biodiversity Centre. I scanned the actual T.Rex skeleton for the Naturalis museum, it took me about 2 weeks to scan all the seperate bones and 1 more full day to scan the overall fossil. The post-processing took a lot longer. Everything is scanned using a Artec EVA.
To fit this model on the site it had to be simplified a lot! The original bones are all scanned with a resolution/accuracy of around 0.3 mm. All the data combined is about 400 GB.
Obviously this 3D model is not as cool as the real fossil, so visit Naturalis

@4visualization @4visualization thanks
@fpierron Hello, for anyone who is interested in the model I am not the owner just the creator of the model, the model belongs to the Naturalis museum, they want to make the model available for sale or research but at this moment it is not yet possible, it is expected that it will take at least till 2020 before this will be possible. At the moment the museum is working on a printable 3d-model of Trix when this will be ready and available I will publish the information I have, here.
Nice ! Would it possible to get the 3D model ? I've made an interview with Trix (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iunduWGXPC0), If possible, I would like to review my movie with this model included. I am not doing that for money, just for pleasure to share. Do not hesitate to reach me if you like the idea.
@bebsjones this is not the place to discuss this.
@bebsjones, your ignorant speech tells you are religious, right?
Thanks for sharing such a detailed scan!
It might be easier to explore on a plain background + annotations.
Excellent model. But the hallux is missing.
@4visualization I probably wouldn't be able to pay much more than 100-130 dollars for it, but I'd be totally down for such a lovely model.
As a lot of people are interested in buying this model I would like to know how much would you be willing to pay for it, depending on what you would do with it (education, research, commercial, fun or ..)?
How much would something like this cost? You might consider
listing it on Turbosquid.

Supergaaf!
