Urban Development in Wolli Creek (2013-2020)Your model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
Urban development in Wolli Creek (Sydney, Australia) has been dramatic in recent years. This model is composed by two point clouds collected in 2013 (bottom) and 2020 (top), retrieved from ELVIS Geoscience (https://elevation.fsdf.org.au/). Both models were segmented, aligned and reassembled together in CloudCompare. A PCV/ShadeViz algorithm was used to estimate the ambient oclusion and converted to RGB. The scalar fields (representing heights) were blended with RGB values later.
The bottom model shows the urban conditions in 2013; the colour gradation represents the relative height of points. The top model shows the urban conditions in May 2020; the colour gradation shows the absolute cloud-to-cloud (C2C) distance between 2013 and 2020 models. Distance was computed using a least squere plane and 6 points k-nearest neighbours. The top model shows the significant urban morphology and land cover changes in the area over last 7 years, including the new WestConnex (M5) highway next to Kogarah Golf Club.
