More model informationMonolithic stone with sundial in Winchester Abbey Gardens beside the Abbey House (Winchester, Hampshire). The gardens were once part of former Nunnaminster Abbey while Abbey House is used as the Mayor of Winchester’s official residence. Nunnaminster was a Benedictine nunnery founded by Alfred the Great’s widow Ealhswith circa 900 CE.
Monolithic sundial was erected 2000 to commemorate the new millennium.
