The Ursuline Vestment set dates from the late 15th or early 16th century. The cross orphrey on the chasuble has the central figure of Christ dead on the cross, surmounted by a Pelican for Piety. On the left arm of the cross, the Virgin Mary in prayer. On the right arm of the cross, St. Andrew with the Saltire Cross. Below the figure of Christ on the cross is Moses with the two tablets of stone. The background architectural details place the work in the early Renaissance; the arches surmounting the figures are topped with the fleur-de-leys. The gold ground is worked in patterned couching and the figures are worked in silk on linen. The predominance of blue and white and the inclusion of St. Andrew suggest a strong Scottish connection. This set features in an inventory of the Leslies of Fetternear in 1690 and may have come from a North-East church. This object belongs to the Scottish Catholic Heritage Collections Trust, T8000BLRBM
