Taxonomy: Amphibia>Temnospondyli>Metoposauridae>Metoposaurus sp.
Metoposaurus is a genus of amphibian from the late Triassic of Europe, though the clade that includes Metoposaurus and its closest relatives has a near-global spread including North America. This animal was mostly aquatic and ate fish, and could reach lengths of 3 meters long and weigh 450 kilograms. These organisms have been found in mass death beds, presumed to be a result of evaporating water basins. This specimen illustrates the right side of the skull and clearly shows the different skull bones.
