Venom System of Crotalus adamanteus

This model shows the anatomy of the venom system of Crotalus admanateus. It involves the maxilla, fangs, venom gland, venom duct, and adductor externus superficialis. The model was made from specimen UF:herp:72544 at the Florida Museum of Natural History. The specimen was imaged by diffusible iodine-based contrast-enhanced Computed Tomography (diceCT) after staining with a 3.75% buffered Lugol’s solution.
