Black granite Victory Stela of the 19th Dynasty Merenptah (Merneptah) detailing his victory over various Libyan groups. Also included are victories over several cities/peoples in Syro-Palestine, including a possible reference to “Israel.” The reverse side of the stela contains an earlier stela of Amenhotep III. This side was unavaialble for photography at the time the photographs for this model were taken and has been created to show the thickness of the object only. The stela is located in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo (JE 31408). At the time of photography, the area was very poorly lit because of renovations taking place. This has resulted in the varying colors of the face of the model. Also affecting the color was a glass barrier infront of the lower portion to protect the stela from being touched.
Created from 230 photographs (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.8.4 and Blender 2.92. Photographed in January 2024
