This upload displays a vintage chandelier I modelled for my end of year university project (a diorama set in the 1920s period) a few months back. I did an enormous amount of research surrounding the 1920s - 1940s time period along with different design movements that were popular at the time. I wanted my model to be as authentic to the time period as possible regarding, shape, scale and materials. I also considered optimisation since I wanted this model to be used within the context of video games. I managed to keep each light around 20k polygons which I think is reasonable considering its complexity. The Chandeleir was modelled completely within Maya, where I later UV mapped it. To texture the model I used Substance Painter and tried to age the lamp appropriately to tell its story.
