More model informationThe Nabarlek (Petrogale concinna monastria) is a small species of macropod from Northern Australia and this particular subspecies is exclusively found in the Kimberly region of Western Australia. They are shy and have been observed to be very agile and fast when spooked, often retreeting to rocky hollows. The teeth of the Naberlek are unique among mammals, with molars being continually replaced. These teeth emerge with each row containing four to six molars and another that is yet to erupt. This is because in its habitat the Nabarlek eats hard fiberous food which quickly wears its teeth. This feature of tooth replacement is also shared by sharks!
