One of several carved boulders on Wandylaw Moor, near Ellingham, Northumberland.
Boulder referenced ‘Wandylaw D’ on both the Beckensall Archive and ERA. Even though both projects appear to have recorded the same rock, Stan Beckensall’s drawing from the early 1970s shows a rock with several cups, one of which is surrounded by a complete ring and a penannular. Looking at the 3D model, there only appears to be a single cup and an extremely dubious ring. This raises the possibility that the stone has been misidentified from Stan Beckensall’s original record.....or the motifs have since eroded away.
